Machines must be supplied with instructions in the official language(s) of the target market. If a manual is provided as a "translation of the original instructions", it should be accompanied by the original instructions – for example, to ensure traceability in the event of ambiguities.
For operating manuals, warning notices and other safety-related content, linguistic correctness alone is not sufficient. Clarity, comprehensibility and traceability in the target market are equally important.
