When reviewing a text (in the sense of proofreading), a distinction must be made between a monolingual review of a text and a bilingual review, where the translation is compared with the source text.
This involves checking the texts for language (e.g. spelling, grammar, sentence structure) and content (e.g. consistency, completeness, agreement with the source text in the case of a bilingual check). In the case of translated texts, localisation must also be taken into account, i.e. ethnic and local characteristics as well as gender-specific wording.
